07/06/2015: My Celebration of Independence Day

June 9, 2016

One of our J-1 Work and Travel participants, Han Y., from China documented her Summer 2015 Work and Travel experience in the USA through a blog. We look forward to reading about her life in the USA!

I went to Minneapolis last Friday to visit my Chinese friends. I met them at the Chicago airport when my flight was canceled. They study at the University of Minnesota.

Day 1

I did some shopping in Mall Of America. I heard that is the biggest mall in US!

In the afternoon, I visited the University of Minnesota and Mississippi. I saw a special tree - my friend told me that they throw one of shoes to the tree when they fail the exam.

Day 2 (Independence Day!!!)

I got up early to see the parade. It seemed that all of the Americans came out to celebrate! It was so crowded everywhere. Afterwards, we just sat on the grass to listen to the concert. The firework show started at 10 pm and it lasted 30 minutes! It's was so big and pretty!

Day 3

I went downtown and had lunch in a Chinese restaurant! My friend told me that's a famous Chinese restaurant in US. The food there is great!
