2012 International Job Fairs

Spirit Cultural Exchange held several different job fairs for summer and winter employers. The first job fair was held in Thailand and the Philippines for the spring and summer 2012 season. The fair was October 12-17, 2011 in Manila, Bangkok, and Chiang Mai. Two Spirit staff members organized the job fair, which included cultural activities and many hiring opportunities. Fifteen employers found employees at the job fair. In Bangkok, the employers enjoyed a cultural tour, including such destinations as the Vimanmek Mansion, Ananda Samakhom Throne Hall, and the Rattanakosin History Museum.

The next month, Spirit employees organized a China Job Fair from November 10-14, 2011. The fair took place in Hong Kong and Guangzhou. Nineteen employers hired employees. Employers were also able to experience some local culture in their free time, including a cultural tour of Hong Kong, where they visited Man Mo Temple, the Peak, Aberdeen Fishing Village, and Stanley Market.

The Jamaica Job Fair was from January 10-14, 2012. Nine employers hired employees for their spring and summer 2012 seasons. Employers also enjoyed an excursion to Lime Cay and group dinners at Norma’s on the Terrace and Rodney’s Arms.

The Europe Job Fair was from February 9-17, 2012. Employers traveled to Ukraine and Turkey, where they enjoyed group dinners, a city tour of Ephesus, and an overnight stay in Izmir. Around fourteen employers hired employees for their spring and summer 2012 seasons.

A smaller-scale job fair was held the following month in Cluj, Romania. Six employers hired employees. Employers were also able to take a tour of Cluj, including stops at St. Michael’s Church, Orthodox Cathedral, Medicine Historical Museum, Tailor’s Bastian Tower, and the Botanic Gardens of Cluj.

The last job fair of 2012 was in South America to hire employees for the winter 2013 season. The fair included stops in Peru, Brazil, and Argentina from August 22-31, 2012. Three employers hired employees. Employers also enjoyed cultural tours in Lima, Floripa, and Buenos Aires.
