J-1 Visa Sponsorship After Receiving a Host Company Offer

Once a US company agrees to host you for training, the next steps are much easier. You are no longer searching. Now you are preparing for your BridgeUSA J-1 visa sponsorship after receiving a Host Company Offer. Spirit Cultural Exchange will guide you through every part of the process.

1. Submit Your Application and Host Company Offer Details

You will share basic information about your eligibility and the Host Company. Spirit Cultural Exchange will review everything to make sure it fits the J-1 program rules. You can start an online application here.

2. Upload Required Documents

You will need to provide:

  • Your passport
  • Your resume
  • Proof of your studies or professional experience
  • A completed copy of the Spirit Cultural Exchange Internship Agreement
  • A Bank Statement may also be requested

3. Prepare the Training Plan

You can complete the online training plan based on what was discussed with your US Host Company. Spirit Cultural Exchange can then work directly with your Host Company to create the official Training Plan (called a DS-7002). This plan outlines your learning goals and training rotations. You and the Host Company will both review and sign it.

4. Spirit Cultural Exchange Issues Your DS-2019

Once the Training Plan (T/IPP) is triple signed, and program fees have been paid, Spirit Cultural Exchange will issue your DS-2019. This is the document you need for the US embassy interview.

5. Schedule Your Embassy Appointment

You will schedule your J-1 visa interview at the US embassy in your home country. Spirit Cultural Exchange provides tips and preparation advice to help you feel confident.

6. Travel to the US and Start Training

After your visa is approved, you can book your flight and prepare for your arrival. Spirit Cultural Exchange will continue supporting you during your program.

By following each step of this blog series, you can successfully find your own Host Company and begin your J-1 cultural exchange experience in the US.
