Wisconsin Dells J-1 Participant Bowling Night

During a recent visit to Wisconsin, Grace, one of our Spirit Cultural Exchange representatives, attended a Wisconsin Dells BridgeUSA Work and Travel Participant Bowling Night at Knuckleheads Bowling. The gathering, organized by the Wisconsin Dells Community Support Group, brought together sixty participants, including sixteen from Spirit Cultural Exchange, for an evening centered on connection in a relaxed social setting.

Knuckleheads provided an energetic backdrop, with bowling lanes, music, shared tables, and pizza. The Wisconsin Dells BridgeUSA Work and Travel Participant Bowling Night offered a welcome break from daily routines and gave participants a chance to spend time together outside of work.

Participants engaged with the sponsors and each other, enjoying the opportunity to unwind and socialize. A range of countries was represented, including Thailand and Ecuador. Spirit Cultural Exchange participants were active throughout the Wisconsin Dells BridgeUSA Work and Travel Participant Bowling Night, joining games and connecting with both familiar friends and new acquaintances.

It was also clear that many participants had formed strong friendships during their time in the program. Different friend groups could be seen gathering between games, laughing, and supporting each other. The Wisconsin Dells BridgeUSA Work and Travel Participant Bowling Night gave them a chance to reconnect while also meeting others. Grace also joined in as groups paused to take fun photos together, capturing moments from the night and reflecting the positive energy in the room.

Participants are confident navigating both the Dells and their new social circles, demonstrating independence throughout their program experience. This visit highlighted how simple, well-organized events can foster meaningful connections and strengthen community among participants.

Events like this play an important role in the BridgeUSA experience. They create space for participants to build relationships, feel more comfortable in their community, and enjoy cultural exchange beyond the workplace.
