Holiday Outing with the Chicago Interns

  • Interns & Trainees

We love spending time with our participants, so it's always exciting when we have interns and trainees placed near our office in Chicago! Last week, Spirit Representatives Barbara, Julie, Kailei, and Suzanne went downtown to meet with a few of our participants from Spain and India. It was a very cold night in the city, but the view was spectacular. The ice skating rink is right in front of "The Bean" in Millennium Park and is surrounded by the tall buildings and lights of downtown Chicago. For two of the participants, it was their first time on skates!

Everyone managed to stay on their feet, and all of them got better at ice skating as the night went on.  Thanks to this event, our participants really got to experience how Chicagoans survive the bitter winter: wear warm clothes and be active!

After skating, it was the perfect time to walk through the Chistkindlmarket to indulge in some hot chocolate, fried cheese, and bratwurst. The market has thousands of ornaments, and the participants loved having the chance to walk around, eat, and shop. The city lights were especially beautiful; it was fun to explore Chicago and get in the holiday spirit with our interns!

You can take a look at our Instagram post for more photos, and click here for a fun video of the event!
